the earthquake of 2007

after two years of hanging nicely on our workroom wall, yesterday our ikea (not so) effektiv cabinets decided they weren't going to take it any more.

before, when our storage system liked us and cooperated nicely:

and then yesterday morning, after ann heard a crash! a boom! and went downstairs to discover this:

destruction

that's about two years of craft detritus spilling out from the fallen cabinet and onto our floor.

let's just see that one more time:

destruction

Oh my god... Glad you weren't working underneath those cabinets when they came down. Hoping for the least damage...

And here we were talking about putting up IKEA kitchen cabinets this morning...

ikea kitchen cabinets may be a different beast all together. we've put those up before and they seem strong and good. these, however, have since been taken off the market. now, we know why.

I meant to ask you, was anything important broken? I know your printer was right underneath! yikes.

miraculously, everything survived - even the glass on the front of each door.

Woah! Glad you all are ok. I had a big Ikea shelf fall in my crafty room too. Thankfully, I was not under it.
To cheer you u, I saw your little cell phone cleaners at Home Anthology, a cool vintage furniture store right outside of Baltimore!
