tanzania or bust

tomorrow, dabney and i head off for another adventure - a eleventh hour trip to tanzania to A) catch some dear friends before they move on to a new chapter of their lives, B) lie on the beach in zanzibar, C) go on safari.

i very highly doubt that i'll be updating superette while we're gone, but keep your eye on that twitter feed.

dabney and i have been absolutely obsessed with the possibility of winning this year's hgtv dream home, which just happens to be located in dabney's home state of vermont. we are so bound and determined to have one of our names be plucked out of the virtual hat that we've been entering twice a day everyday for over a month now

friday and the couch

most dogs jump on the couch and make themselves at home. friday? she's never been a jumper.



lately, she's taken to sitting on the couch by daintily placing her bum on the edge, much like any human would.

dabney and i may have twelve valentine's days under our belts, but that doesn't compare to these two.

on saturday afternoon, i flipped on the tube to watch this weekend's pga event (yes, i am that addicted), the corporate sponsor-name withheld phoenix open in scottsdale.  normally when one thinks golf, one imagines respectful, observant, politely hushed crowds of affluent senior citizens. but this is what the 16th hole at tpc scottsdale looks like.



never had i seen such a golf event!

it was the superbowl of golf events.  we're talking a golf hole plunked in the middle of an arena with the seating capacity of over 100,000 and complete with free bleacher section of rowdy college students drinking in the sun.

i tuned in just in time for this.

the fanciest laundry room floor you've ever seen

there is a lovely spread of a super-fabulous condo in the central west end in this month's issue of st. louis at home magazine.





i am not usually drawn to such sleek minimalism, but i bring this place up because our old house/store is related in a small way. the same very talented general contractor worked on both places.

i know i've mentioned this before but we received the leftovers of that gorgeous ceramic tile that covers every inch of the fancy schmancy condo, as evidenced below.



there was enough for the guest bath floor, the tub surround, and laundry room floor.
